Changes to adoption operations as of March 15th, 2022:
Despite the relaxing of public health orders in Manitoba, the following restrictions will continue to be enforced at Rescue Siamese:
- Drop-in visits are permitted. However, due to limited store capacity, priority will be given to visitors who have booked an appointment ahead of time.
- For your safety and the safety of our volunteers, we require all visitors to wear masks when inside the Rescue Siamese shelter building. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: We kindly ask that potential adopters fill out an adoption application, and book an appointment prior to visiting the shelter building. This helps us better manage the number of people in the shelter building at a given time. Please send all appointment requests to [email protected]
- Only two visitors are allowed to enter the store at any given time (max store capacity is 3 persons).
- Anyone visiting the shelter will be asked to use hand sanitizer before and after handling any of the animals.
- We kindly ask that anyone who has come in contact with a Covid-positive individual, has recently travelled outside the province, or exhibiting cold/flu symptoms please refrain from visiting our shelter building. Please do not visit our adoption centre if someone in your household is self-isolating.
- We still require a home check to be done for all adoptions, but some will be done by Zoom/Facetime if possible. All cats must be met in person at the adoption centre prior to adoption. This will be done on a case-by-base basis; we ask for your patience as we are entirely volunteer-run and are strictly following precautionary measures to limit the spread of Covid19
- If you are waiting for a response to an application or home check, please give us a little extra time as we are working through multiple applications on volunteer time.
- We will still respond to the direst of cases (Siamese cats in kill pounds) as much as we can afford to and of course, we will continue to readmit any RS alumni cats back into our care at a moment’s notice if required.
PLEASE STAY SAFE!
