- Biography:Gordy’s journey to us has not been easy one. He was found living outside of the city, doing his best to survive as a stray. Despite his rough start, Gordy has proven to be an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy. He warms up to people and truly enjoys gentle attention, cuddles, pets, and companionship. Once he feels safe, his soft, loving personality shines through. At the shelter, Gordy is slowly learning that other cats can be friends, too. He does best with calm, respectful feline companions and is making steady progress in adjusting to group living. With time and patience, he may continue to blossom around other easy-going cats in a home setting. Gordy has not yet met young children yet. One thing Gordy is very sure about is food—he loves it! Because he had to fend for himself outdoors, he still worries about when his next meal is coming. As a result, he can be quite food-driven and will happily help himself to any cat or people food left unattended. To keep him healthy and comfortable, Gordy should remain on a consistent feeding schedule. When he overeats, it can upset his stomach and lead to diarrhea, so structured mealtimes will help him feel secure. Over time, with routine and reassurance, he’ll continue learning that he never has to worry about finding his next meal again. Due to his past experiences, Gordy would not do well in a home with dogs. There were many dogs in the area where he lived outside, and he may associate them with stress and danger. A calm, dog-free home where he can relax and feel safe will be the best match for him. Gordy is a resilient, lovable cat who is ready to leave his difficult past behind and start a new chapter with a family who will give him the stability, kindness, and care he deserves.
