- Biography:Sushi is a sweet, gentle boy who is now ready to find a calm and patient forever home where he can continue to build confidence and learn what it means to feel truly safe. He came into our care as a stray after being found outdoors, and it’s clear that his early experiences have made him a little unsure of people and new environments. Because of this, he can be shy at first and needs time to feel comfortable, but there is not a single mean bone in him—he is soft-natured, cautious, and kind. Since being in foster care, Sushi has been slowly learning to trust the volunteers who care for him. With quiet patience and a gentle approach, he now allows soft pets from people he knows, and he is beginning to show small glimpses of curiosity and comfort. As he starts to relax, his playful side is also starting to emerge, showing that underneath his nervousness is a cat who simply needs time and reassurance to blossom. Sushi will do best in a quiet home with a steady routine and an adopter who understands that trust cannot be rushed. He is sensitive to noise and activity, so a calm environment will help him continue to progress at his own pace. He is not suited to homes with dogs or children, as he would likely find them overwhelming. He may do well with calm, respectful cats who can give him space while still providing quiet companionship. While Sushi may not be an immediate lap cat, he offers something very special for the right person: the opportunity to watch a once-scared boy slowly learn to feel safe, build confidence, and form a gentle bond on his own terms.
