- Biography:Zara originally came to us in the fall of 2023 from another shelter and then returned to our care a few months ago. This beautiful long-haired girl is sweet and affectionate once she feels safe, and she adores gentle pets and attention. When stressed, she may urinate or defecate outside of the litter box. Medical causes have been ruled out, and we believe her behaviour is stress related. For this reason, Zara will need a calm and quiet home with no dogs or young children. She is on a prescription urinary food Though shy at first, Zara blossoms into a loving and affectionate companion. With time, patience, and the right environment, she will make a wonderful addition to a quiet and caring home. She would thrive with an owner who is home often. Due to her long coat, regular grooming is essential, so an experienced cat owner is preferred. Zara has done well with calm cats at the shelter, but we are unsure how she would do in a home with another feline. If introduced to a companion cat, they should be mature and laid-back, not a kitten, and she should have her own space to retreat too.
