Safety Recommendations

For the safety of our volunteers, RESCUE recommends that volunteers serving in the capacity of kennel cleaning observe the following safety concerns:

• Shoes should be closed and offer some protection against chemical spills and or heavy objects
• Hair should be tied back if long
• Jewelry should be at a minimum, no dangling jewelry
• Provision of smocks can be requested to protect clothing from chemicals and or cat hair
• Leather gloves are provided and should be worn if handling an upset cat
• Shelter clothes and shoes should be sanitized before coming into contact with any pets at home
• Discuss tetanus and rabies vaccination with your family doctor

RESCUE Siamese Volunteer Waiver of Liability

RESCUE Siamese cannot be held accountable for any accidents involving volunteers while they are performing assigned duties for the shelter and can not be held accountable for any accidents occurring to visitors of scheduled volunteers.

RESCUE Siamese is not liable for any medical expenses resulting from any accidents involving volunteers while they are performing assigned duties for the shelter.

RESCUE Siamese is not liable for any bites or scratches that may occur involving volunteers while performing assigned duties for the shelter. Furthermore, cats will not be euthanized to obtain possible diseased tissue for immediate medical analysis, rather RESCUE Siamese will commit to a ten day quarantining of the animal in question to observe any disease progression and RESCUE Siamese will report its findings to authorized and interested medical personal.

RESCUE Siamese is not liable for any medical expenses incurred after accidental exposure of disease or parasite to a volunteer’s pets.

RESCUE Siamese is not liable and cannot take responsibility for any accidents occurring with its junior volunteers and cannot be responsible for their safe transport to and from the RESCUE Adoption Centre.
